Kandy Koliwer
Kandy was admitted to the California State Bar in 1985. She has practiced primarily in the area of child custody in several legal arenas. These include family law, juvenile dependency, guardianships and adoptions. Additionally she represents clients in domestic violence restraining order actions. Her goal is to help families resolve their issues, and when they can't resolve them, to vigorously advocate for her clients.
Kandy received a BA in Sociology and and California Teaching Credential from San Diego State University. She received a Masters degree in Counseling from Chapman College. Prior to becoming an attorney she worked as a Probation Officer and Social Worker with children involved in the Juvenile Court related to child abuse and neglect. This experience has helped her immensely in representing clients involved in child custody issues. She has experience with all sides of complicated child custody issues.
Kandy's primary area of practice is Juvenile Dependency, representing all parties including parents, relatives and foster parents. Additionally, she works in the areas of Family Law, Guardianships, Adoptions, Restraining Orders and Paternity Actions.
Additionally, Kandy has experience in international child custody matters.
Kandy has certification from the San Diego Superior Court to practice in the juvenile dependency courts.
